Four season living on Osoyoos Lake

What does four season living in the South Okanagan Valley, Osoyoos, and Oliver area mean? It starts with natural beauty, temperate climate, and a stunning wine country location. It finishes with year round unlimited opportunities for both outdoor recreation and indoor comforts. In Osoyoos it’s always in season to curl up with a book, gather the family for Scrabble, or relax over lunch at Burrowing Owl Winery’s legendary Sonora Room. Evening brings outdoor concerts at Tinhorn Creek Winery’s amphitheatre. The Cottages are positioned directly between Osoyoos and Oliver, conveniently close to the shops, restaurants, and markets.

Spring and Summer

They say Osoyoos Lake is the warmest lake in all of Canada. That makes it ideal for swimming, floating, fishing, boating and its smooth surface makes it prime for waterskiing. But don’t worry, The Cottages are at the quiet north end of the lake, with a secluded cove.

The area surrounding The Cottages features some of the best and most renowned wine makers in the area. Road 13, Burrowing Owl, Tinhorn Creek, and others are just steps away on The Golden Mile, which is Canada’s answer to Napa. The weather also makes your backyard perfect for hiking or mountain biking, and golfers are at home at the 36-holes of Osoyoos Golf and Country Club, the Les Furber designed Fairview Mountain Golf Club.

Fall and Winter

Although Osoyoos gets very little snow, it is an incredible location for winter sports fanatics. Penticton’s Apex Mountain is only 95km away, and local favourite Mount Baldy is just a 40-minute drive. That’s backyard slopes with 20 feet of famous Okanagan champagne powder for downhill, snowboarding, cross country, snowshoeing, and even tobogganing.
